You’re not to blame. But you’re not powerless either.
If you open social media or read the headlines, it can be easy to feel like the world is on fire - and that we’re all a bit helpless in it.
Conversely, there’s a different message that shows up a lot in business, leadership, and self-development.
Take full responsibility.
Be accountable.
Stay optimistic.
It’s compelling. And there’s something in it. But depending on how it’s understood, it can either move people forward… or weigh them down.
There’s real value in taking responsibility.
When you shift from:
“This is happening to me”
to:
“What do I have influence over here?”
you gain something important.
Agency.
You’re no longer stuck waiting for things to change. You’re able to act.
That shift is empowering.
